The Louisiana Cancer Research Center (LCRC) will host its annual Cancer Research Symposium on Thursday, May 21st, at Xavier University of Louisiana. Doors open at 7:00 A.M. The event brings together scientists, clinicians, trainees, and community partners from across the region to share emerging discoveries, strengthen collaboration, and advance the fight against cancer.
This year’s symposium will spotlight the power of collaboration across the LCRC’s partner institutions, organized around four cross‑cutting research themes: Obesity and Metabolism; Environmental Exposure, including viruses and lifestyle factors such as tobacco and alcohol; Developmental Therapeutics and Drug Discovery; and New Approach Methodologies (NAMs) that aim to replace traditional animal models. These themes reflect the center’s commitment to accelerating discovery and translating scientific advances into meaningful progress against cancer.
Cross‑Cutting Research Themes Selection:
As part of the registration process, please select two cross‑cutting research themes you would like to participate in. These selections will help organizers assign participants to the appropriate round‑table discussion.
